Drawn by the beauty, diversity and endless outdoor recreation opportunities the Grand Valley has to offer, my husband and I moved here in 2006. We now live in Fruita but I appreciate lifestyle bonuses in all our communities. I enjoy hiking with our two dogs and fly fishing with my husband, who is a retired nurse from the VA Medical Center. We have two children, a daughter who is an ER nurse, teaches Wilderness Medicine and lives in Santa Fe. She has a new baby boy, our first grandson, Hayes. My son, a graphic designer, recently moved here with his family. I have been thrilled to introduce and explore the area through my four and six-year-old granddaughters' eyes. I love my Mimi adventures with Parker and Dylan. Earning my Master Gardener designation was an excellent foundation to further understand native plants and our unique environment. Having served on the local Trout Unlimited Board and the Fruita Arts and Culture Board was a way to connect and give back to the community and projects I feel passionate about.
